I am a little perplexed with your judgement call Kia...I own a 2014 Kia Sorento that's as apart of your engine recall...the car 'passed' the tests ran on it to determine if a new engine was needed, only to have the engine completely cease going 50mph on a major highway in Virginia...I received a call today about an open recall on a fuel pump issue potentially causing fire...while I was aware of this situation due to the national news the issue has received I was not prepared for the supposed resolution to this issue...I was told that I needed to bring the vehicle in for inspection to determine 'if they' thought the fuel pump needed to be replaced...so, let me get this straight you want me to yet again trust people that told me my engine was completely fine when it wasn't to now tell me I don't need a new fuel pump but potentially catch fire "?" something is seriously wrong with this situation ! the fact that you are willing to put peoples safety at jeopardy is disheartening...I have zero trust that if I am told the fuel pump doesn't need to be replaced that I am safe...you need a better resolution and you need one fast....

My Sorento feels like it's going to stall, especially when accelerating. It's also burning oil at an alarming rate. The oil lamp flickered once while driving on the highway. There is no obvious oil leak. I took it to the dealership and they said it needs a new engine it that it isn't covered under the 17V224 recall. I'm afraid that the engine is failing and that it is Kia's responsibility, but they are ignoring the problem

Ever since we took our Kia for the recall service and they "fixed it" turns out the made it worse and now the engine makes a loud rattling sound, the breaks which are new have horrible performance and the electrical issues we are having with the odometer and the transmission sensors due to the recall as well but the local Kia dealership that "fixed it" will not take a look at what they brok without us having to pay them for it we have had no accidents and it gets maintenance done on time.

While driving down I75 acrossing the zilwaukee bridge two guys in a pickup, later I call my angels, tried to get me to pull over. Naturally my instinct was no. When I wouldn't, the driver started inching over towards my car to make me stop. I pushed on the brakes and there was nothing to push. When I finally stopped one guy jumped out.. pulled open my door and told me my car was on fire, pulling me out. By the time we ran towards their pickup, the car was completely engulfed in flames. I was lucky they were there or I wouldn't be here to write this.

My Kia sorrento V6 motor is going out it's been parked sence may of 2018. The lower rod bears are going out. Contacted Kia and recall is only on 4 cylinders and stated that no other complaints on V6. It's just unreal that 174,000 miles and engine going out for same thing that the recall was for. We drove to the store and I head a noice that's when I went home and check it out had it looked at by couple mechanics and told me to park it it was rod bearings sent video to Kia dealer and they confirmed what I was already told motor shot. Cost too much for me to replace motor so it's just sitting there paying on a car I cant do anything with. The cost for replacement is 7500 to 8500 that's not in my budget.

I have a 2014 Kia Sorento sxl 3.3 ltr V6 with 119, 952 miles on it. On 11/26/2018 after pulling in the drive way and existing the car I smelled what I believed to be an antifreeze smell.my car did not have any warning indicators on and my temperture gauge was normal. I took my car to dobbs on 11/27/2018, paid $30.95 and told it was leaking head gaskets which cost $4500-$5000 to repair. I decided to call Kia Consumer Affairs and had my car towed to a Kia dealership for diagnostics and they decided I needed a motor, the cost would be $7600. I then called Consumer Affairs back and was told by the agent she would submit a request for a goodwill repair. Kia agreed to replace my motor as the technician diagnosed, but I am responsible for labor at $140/hour for 21.4 hours. I really appreciate Kia replacing the motor, obviously due to some type of defect.wondering if there will soon be a recall on it. I've had 2 steering columns installed, alternator, lower oil pan and still a popping noise. I was told on the 4th time of complaining to dealer services, they tighten an axle nut. Well the nut must be loose again because the popping is back. Could this be a problem with the axle which has been recalled on other models"should my motor also have been a part of the motors most recently recalled. Could my strut have started leaking due to an adequate amount of corrosion substance not being applied " I replacind my struts, rotors, breaks and 4 new tires. I love my car, this is my second Kia.I am greatful, but a little disappointed about paying $3000. My 2 month old daughter passed away in her sleep on March 15. 2017 and left me with the stress of losing her, funeral cost and now this. I am a single mother; therefore money is tight. Cars similar to mine have caught on fire due to faulty motors and that is really a scary thought.

Driving at approx 70 mph on the highway the engine began making a faint knocking sound which very quickly turned into a more rapid hectic knocking sound. As I was exiting the freeway the sound continued to intensify and the engine knocking then became extremely loud almost completely disabling the vehicle on the highway. This happened very quickly leaving me very little time to react to the problem. This was due to a connecting rod bearing failure.

Engine recall my vehicle is in the dealership for the engine recall I also had to have the steering wheel replaced 2 times due to wiring or button malfunctions. Along with the usb port on the stereo. The issue happened again after the warranty coverage ended for that part and they refuse to fix it again after warranty even though it has been a known issue. The usb port comes loose constantly and will not work- they want me to buy a whole new radio to correct this. The volume button on the steering wheel has had issues in the past and now no longer works... again they want me to get a new steering wheel to correct this...

My vehicle was manufactured in the Georgia plant but was not part of the 2 previous recalls, even though it was manufactured that the same time, because it has the lambda 3.3L V6 engine. After all the troubles I have had with the vehicle, locks dont unlock, engine is failing, and now there is a problem with the valves. A valve can be heard tapping in my cars engine, it sounds and feels (vibrations can be felt by hand) that it is almost certainly in bank 2 (towards front of car) almost directly below/behind the high pressure fuel pump. Now hypothetically if I were on the highway and the valve dropped, consequently punching a whole in the cylinder head, forcing oil through the whole, and igniting it, I would think that it wouldnt take more than a few moments for the flames to catch the high pressure fuel pump and very shortly after engulfing the entire engine and vehicle in flames. I am also sure their are likely many other scenarios that are possible, but with all the engine problems my vehicle has been having while still under 80K miles. This one seems pretty terrifying to me, especially with 3 young children in the back with doors that dont unlock! and of course Kia is too busy trying to twist the situation and blame consumers to even C oi nsider doing the right thing and standing behind their own products. I have hardly driven my vehicle at all since the engine started failing in June, and I believe it has always had this noise (dealership had insisted it was the gdi normal noise when I purchased the vehicle)to last week O happened to NJ price the nk oise getting louder and asked a mechanic what is could be. That mechanic stated it definately sounded like a valve.

On 07/13/18 motor blew up on highway in middle of night about 4 hours form my home with 2 minor grandchildren, scared to death maneuvered to side of highway with no power, I am 70 years old and disabled, very freighting. Took Kia about 5 to 6 weeks to replace engine. I had to refile this claim 2 separate occassion7/13 & 9/13 due Kia Consumer Affairs fault. Sup albert said would refund $456.96 for the tow fee and cutting, Kia Consumer Affairs not retuning calls for over 2 weeks, vacation short and troubles getting back home.10/23 tomas sup. Said because of delays on sending check out, check would be sent by 2nd day or next day air. Recall : it isn't on recall list but having the same problems the other recalls for same vehicle and year. Was driving and engine stalled on the loop, I was almost hit by multiple cars. I finally got the Kia to start and it began to make loud tapping noise and not letting rpms reach 3K. Nobody seems to want to help since the car only has 87K miles and now the engine is failing for no reason. I believe if the engine is doing the same thing as the other recalls, why haven't there been a recall on this Kia.?? I've tried calling dealers and etc nobody is helping me.

Mileage 116,145. I was traveling on the highway coming down a steep grade going straight. In the fast lane I was going 75mph and then rapidily excelerated to 82mph ( the rpms jumped to the 6/7 range). The engine complete stopped. The check engine light, oil light, power steering and battery light all came on. I lost all power steering and rapidly began to slow down. Went from 80 to 50 in a matter of 10 seconds. I was almost crushed by a semi truck as I desperately tried to move the car to the shoulder lane. The car was barley able to coast and it was a struggle to maneuver the vehicle off the highway. I put the car in park and sat waiting for a tow truck for 30 minutes - I took a photo of the warning lights that remained on. Towing company checked all fluids, gas, alternator, battery, belts and all were in working condition. There was no indication why this happened. The vehicle started back up and all warning lights went off.

We bought our car in October 2016. During our transition from New York to Georgia our engine failed on us. My husband and I took it to a Kia autobody shop in greenville South Carolina. They fixed it free of charge due to a recall on our specific year, make and model of our car. We then proceeded as usual taking care of it getting the standard oil change and check ups. There were no signs or warnings for what would happen four months after. On July 10, 2018 at 2:45 pm my husband was driving home. The car started shaking my husband pulled over. There was black smoke coming out of the car. He turned the car off and stepped out a few seconds after our car exploded on him. Counting our blessings that he, nor I and our three kids were not in the car. We reported to Kia that same day. We are currently waiting to hear back from some one.
