Taketa recall. I received a letter on March, 2019 from Mercedes Benz, usa to notify me of this recall. On 4/24/19, I called the coral gables Mercedes dealer and was told the parts were not in and that I would receive a letter when the parts arrive. At https://www.mbusa.com/Mercedes/recall, the status indicates that the parts are still not in. Since this is a defect that can cause serious injury or death, how can it take months for the parts to be available and for my vehicle to be serviced?

The airbag light came on. Dash board displays left airbag malfunction, horn no longer works, display can not be cleared. Steering make lots of of clicking sound when turned on either direction. Took the car to the Mercedes dealership for diagnosis. The initial response was that the steering module failed and my assessment was it is probably due to recall no ground wire recall number 17V627000.. upon further inquiry the dealer told me that the steering module broke and came apart. I suspect this either due to defective steering module or recall # 17V252000 steering bolt. I had communicated this issue to mbusa via emails and several phone calls. They still haven't agreed to cover the cost of the repair. After several calls to the dealer, they finally shared the picture of the steering module as you can see it attached. Other owners have reported the same problem. Please see picture of installed and new module

I recieved a recall notice for takata airbags in February of 2019. Mercedes says that you guys are the holdup with replacement parts. As the letter states that I am basically using my vehicle at my own risk until replacement has been made, I want a record of my unhappiness and fear. My loved ones ride in this car with me and I feel as though I am putting them at unnecessary risk. Unacceptable.

Recall information: Passenger side air bag summary: Mercedes-Benz usa is recalling certain my 2010-2017 C-class, glk-class, sls-class and E-class coupe Mercedes-Benz vehicles equipped with passenger-side frontal airbags affected by the defect decision of tk holdings, Inc. (takata). under certain circumstances during a crash that necessitates frontal airbag deployment, the defect in your passenger-side frontal airbag inflator may cause the inflator to explode. A passenger-side inflator explosion during deployment could result in metal fragments striking the front passenger or other occupants, possibly causing serious injury or death. Safety risk: According to takata, in the event of an inflator explosion, metal fragments could pass through the air bag cushion material, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants. Remedy: An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will replace the passenger-side airbag.

Takata airbags Mercedes dealers continue to sale vehicles like they sold me the car with recall. This is the second recall on my vehicle. The first time it took them 5 months to add grounding to my steering column. Related to air bags. Now the passenger air bag is bad. 19 deaths have been documented do to air bag failure. When is enough. You guys need to put a stop to this crime.

There have been two recalls on my car that are said to be dangerous and even deadly, yet Mercedes has not had parts to fix my car to a safe condition for months and state it will years before they will have the parts (2020). This is an unreasonably dangerous situation they have placed me in as a paying customer and is a breach of acceptable standards. Two recalls are currently threatening my life and the life of any passenger when the car is utilized, a short in the steering column can cause the airbag to blow at any time and a defective airbag on passenger side can send shrapnel flying that is reported to be a possible cause of death or serious injury. Mercedes only apologizes claiming they have no parts and no way to make my car safer by disabling mechanisms from both recalls to make my car safer.

Takata recall. Our complaint is regarding the unreasonable delay in providing us with a good replacement part. Because of the recall we have been unable to use the car or risk serious bodily injury or death if the airbag should deploy and explode. In the meantime we have to find alternate transportation, continue making payments on the car, and are unable to sell it. Should we decide to use it and get injured by the airbag we will have no remedy at law because we they will consider that assumed the risk by using it even with knowledge of the recall. We wanted our replacement part months ago and now its been just too long. Other vehicles with the same recall have had replacements already. Mercedes Benz is not acting fast enough and this delay can only cause more problems for our society as a whole as some people may continue to use their cars despite thew recall. We received our notice in February of 2018. To the question below regarding "when did this happen" I used the date of the recall notice. We have avoided using the car and have not been involved in an accident. Thank you.

The contact owns a 2014 Mercedes-Benz C250. The contact stated that the supplemental restraint system (SRS) warning indicator illuminated, which was a safety concern. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the SRS warning indicator was reset. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer (Mercedes-Benz of tampa, 4400 North dale mabry highway, tampa, fl 33614, (813) 579-2138) where it was diagnosed that the SRS warning indicator needed to be reset. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The failure mileage was 34,200. Consumer stated called mercedez Benz hotline & customer service twice. 1st they told if SRS light was on to stop driving car immediately & have it towed to the dealer- which I did on 12-13-17. SRS light was reset by dealer after having car for 5 days on 1-2-18 light (SRS) came on again& I had car towed to dealer again. At this time dealer told there was nothing more they could do for me.
