ABS warning light comes on and chimes randomly. Message: -??Service anti-lock braking system-??. When driving, warning lights come on, chimes sound continuously, and if using cruise control, it is deactivated. Per my mechanic, I need to replace my ABS module and pump. Parts are on national back order. Estimated time for part availability is one and a half years! Truck only had 16,000 miles on odometer when this problem started. Chime warning comes on randomly and sometimes stays on indefinitely. Driving when the chime is sounding is a nightmare. Deactivation of cruise control is frustrating. Loss of ABS in rainy or slick conditions is dangerous, especially when towing 5th wheel. Dodge has no vehicle recalls on the 2018 2500s. Problem is exasperating and dangerous.

Getting code C0020-01, ABS pump motor control - general electrical failure This item failed within 24 months of purchase and now the replacement is giving me the same failure. Quick web search showing a large amount of there-??s issues which controls ABS as well as the traction control system. I understand there-??s wearable parts but this should happen twice on a 4 year old vehicle with 50k miles, not to mention the others on the road. This should be a recall item given the frequency of failure

ABS Module and HCU bad with 40K miles, a WELL KNOWN ram issue that they continue to ignore and take thousands of Additional dollars out of consumers pockets as they seem to go bad JUST after the basic warranty expires. 70 thousand dollar truck that is garbage, and Ram won-??t remedy this problem. Second power wagon I-??ve owned, same issue, similar mileage.

anti- lock brake trouble light is on permanently. Checked with dealer Part number 68347098AB antilock module is on back order. All online retailers are out of stock and no ETA of when its going to be restocked. This is a known problem with Dodge Trucks, without anti-lock brakes the brakes can lock up and skid out of control killing the driver/passenger and anybody else involved. once the light comes on cruise control is locked out. I think this warrants a safety recall. If it was just 1 or 2 cases I could see it being a random problem but reading on all the people who have the same problem, its scary to know as many Dodge ram trucks on the road with possibly no anti-lock brakes what could happen in an emergency

While driving, a warning message appeared "service electric brake system". Taken to dealer. "Found, hydraulic control unit to be faulty." Need to replace unit. Correction determined "ABS SYSTEM ANDSTABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM IS COMPROMISED. SUGGEST NOT DRIVING THIS VEHICLE UNTIL PARTS ARE AVAILABLE AND INSTALLED IN THE VEHICLE. " I was informed by the dealer the party's are restricted and cannot be ordered until January 2023 and then there is no guarantee they will be shipped. I contacted Ram service and was informed the parts did not exist and needed to be manufactured. I inquired how this could happen with only 28411 miles (less when detected) and if there was a recall. I was shocked a safety part like this that prevents the vehicle from being driven was not covered under recall. There was no offer to assist with providing transportation for me while I await for repair.

Results in traction control and automatic emergency braking not working as intended. Parts are backordered until January at the earliest, and will be over $1k after labor.

Vehicle showing error code C0020-01 which is an issue with the ABS system. This is a known issue among the 2018 Ram Trucks which after searching repair options seems to be happening more frequently than it should. This is a major safety issue that is effecting thousands of vehicles and should be addressed. Repairs require a replacement of the ABS Module and the HCU. The manufacturer should be required to fix this safety issue.

"Service Electronic Braking System" and "Service ABS System" lights are flashing intermittently and the "ABS" and "Traction Control" lights are on as well. No diminished braking has occurred yet, however the ABS and traction control become disabled when the issue is present. I am currently opening a STAR case with RAM and attempting to schedule a dealer appointment. The issue started at 43,500 miles. This problem appears to be widespread on 2018 RAM 2500/3500 trucks and represents a safety issue, as the braking and traction control mechanisms are disabled when the issue is present.

While operating vehicle the ABS and traction control lights would flash on and off and message service anti lock brake system. Then service electric brake system would flash in message center. After flashing on and off multiple times the messages self cleared and lights went out. Each time hitting a bump the light would come back on, then when hit another bump light would go out.

The contact owns a 2018 Ram 2500. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the -??Service Electronic Braking System" and the Traction Control icon were illuminated. During the failure the cruise control would independently be deactivated. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 9,000. The consumer stated when the vehicle is started and placed into gear, "Service Electronic Braking System, Traction Control, and Anti Lock Icons" all illuminate. The manufacturer stated the vehicle is out of warranty and if fixed it will be at the owner's expense.

Service Electronic Braking System and Service ABS system lights are flashing intermittently and the ABS and traction control lights are on. Dealer has indicated the hydraulic control unit is bad and needs replaced but they no longer manufacture that part and there are no aftermarket offerings so vehicle cannot be repaired until parts are located. In the meantime these vehicles affected have no anti-lock brakes and the cruise control randomly shuts off if the ABS light flashes while cruise is enabled.

ABS Hydraulic Control Unit and Electronic Control Unit Failure. ABS MIL and Traction MIL began turning ON and OFF intermittently during daily driving, sometimes turning ON and OFF over 50 times during a 20-mile drive. Lights up the dash and sounds a beep to inform the driver, while displaying a message on the dashboard screen. Again, this occurs every time the alarm activates. No dealership was able to get me in for an appointment when the issue first began. Took into the dealership today for diagnosis. The technician immediately knew the problem when I said the ABS light was blinking randomly and noted that he has seen this with all 2018 RAM 2500s. The first safety issue is regarding the loss of situational awareness while driving caused by distracting alarm systems. The second safety issue is that ABS WILL NOT work if the alarm is active, effectively setting up the driver to be placed into a dangerous situation during inclement weather conditions where ABS might mean life or death during a hard braking situation. The ABS system is only covered under a basic warranty with Dodge (3yr or 36K). The ABS system failed around 36K, but due to dealership waitlists, I was not able to be seen until 41K. The cost for total ABS HCU and control unit replacement is around $1500.

39,125 miles - 2018 RAM 2500 6.4L (purchased new in 2019), intermittent ABS / traction control light and alarm dinging! Dealership diagnosed it as the ABS / hydraulic control unit with code C0020-07. Many reports of this same issue can be found online from RAM owners having this exact issue, most are just out of the warranty. Low or backorder status of the replacement parts also suggests an issue. ABS function and cruise control are disabled when the error occurs and no way to know when or how long the issue and alarm dinging will last. This is a major safety problem that should be a recall.

ABS and Traction Control warning light keeps intermittently coming on and then a message saying that the Electric Brake system needs serviced. This has happened to my 2018 RAM at 17,000 miles. Dealer replaced ABS module under warranty and problem was solved. Now I am at 35,000 miles and the problem is back. Same exact issue. This needs to be a recall item ASAP and this seems to be a VERY common problem with these trucks. This could be very dangerous as these trucks are made for towing heavy loads and losing your anti-lock braking capabilities could be catastrophic to you or anyone else on the road.

The truck recently started displaying "Service Antilock Brake System" periodically on the information panel. Sometimes it comes on periodically while driving, sometimes only once, sometimes every minute or so and sometimes does not come on at all. We have not had this inspected but looking online appears to be a common problem in these trucks that should be considered a recall. Truck only has 50K miles when this started but this appears to start as soon as 3K miles on some other trucks. This should be a recall as the ABS system is a safety feature that should not be malfunctioning. A second issue that started shortly before this one is the steering wheel shakes when making turns and going over bumps. The truck was serviced for the drag link recall and this started shortly after that and is getting worse with time. Not sure if related to the ABS problem since they started pretty close together or if this is related to the 4WD as it shakes when turning similar to when the 4WD is selected but in this case it is not. This is also a safety issue as you could lose steering.

Vehicle has 21000 miles currently. Service ABS warning and anti skid disabled warning are intermittently flashing on cluster repeatedly. Brakes do appear to work but ABS is not I believe based on towing a heavy loaded trailer when coming to a quick stop in the rain on an irregular surface. Luckily the trailer has dual axle electric brakes and I was able to come to a stop safely. I have pulled the DTC code which is C002001 and states general electrical failure. Found reported Star case [XXX] in NHTSA website that was written in 2020. Have not been able to get into a dealer for service and they appear booked out to early to mid October.
