Takata recall (NHTSA:16V078) received letter dated April 2016 on the recall which stated may result in serious injury or death O vehicle occupant. Giving this serious consequences I contacted VW to request for available option, 1.repair date-not able to provide as no parts available 2. return the car back (with past issues) - denied by VW as they stated national hwy traffic safety did not recommend to take the person out of the car. 3.loaner car - denied as no such policy exist currently with VW. Given the serious hazard which the reason the recall was done which deem dangerous to the passenger how can the car is allowed to be driven further more with family/kids onboard. Can NHTSA or VW guarantee that they wont be any accident or death caused by the airbag till the repair is done? since we get the letter me and my wife are worried and getting panic unnecessarily thinking in what condition will the airbag will be out, burst and injure us. Previous complains for the same car 1. 08/17/2013 - I). Takata recall I find it deeply concerning that Volkswagen wants me to drive around in a leased vehicle that they find so unsafe, they refuse to even sell this vehicle. I received a letter informing me that should I be involved in an accident, the most important safety aspect of the car could essentially act as a bomb, blowing shrapnel in my face. With no current repair solution available, Volkswagen refuses to provide any alternative plans to manage this situation in the meantime. Most other manufacturers have been proactive in preventing further injuries and deaths to their customers by providing alternate solutions. Left with no other options, I have no choice but to continue to drive my vehicle and put my life at risk due to Volkswagen's negligence.

Takata recall - it was brought to my attention that my car is one of millions that has a defective takata airbag on the driver side. I was also told that Honda and many other companies are offering rental cars until the issue can be resolved, and have family members who have received rentals. After speaking with Volkswagen directly they informed me that "we don't have the parts to fix your car, or know when they are coming in." They also said we aren't offering rentals in the mean time. How is a massive company like Volkswagen allowed to let their customers drive cars that have been found unsafe and lead to deaths? the nstha needs to make sure people like myself are provided with safe cars until the problem can be fixed. It is the nstha job to ensure american drivers are safe and keep a skeptical eye on large car companies who have a track record of cutting corners. It is not ethical or moral for a company to not be held to the same standard as others. Make Volkswagen correct the problem or provide safe cars.

"takata recall" hello I just wanted to state that I love my car but I have received not one but twice a recall on my car. The first was about my windshield wipers but now the driver airbag....? I first looked up the severity of the defect to find serious injuries and even death has been the result of the defected part not properly working... this is very alarming because anything can happen with motorists on the road and it doesn't have to be your fault. So I called the local Volkswagen dealership to inquire about what am I to do having this by law unsafe vehicle note my only vehicle in which I'm still paying for and only had a little over a year with. I drive my car everyday and am at risk everyday with a wife and child who also ride with me and my wife drives from time to time. They told me they had not received the parts to correct this issue yet and I will receive a letter when they do. I expressed my concern and truly feel that Volkswagen is responsible for at least offering a replacement vehicle due to its their error for safety inspections and checks until the matter is resolved. I expressed also after they denied any help other than to wait wow id rather had not known than to have to get in my car everyday wondering if my air bag is going to kill me... I truly feel that this issue was and is not being taken seriously at all and I as an paying law abiding have rights. This is negligence and I have read where this negligence led to loss of life!

Takata inflators: My Passat is on the recall list but I have not received notice of repair from VW. Additionally, they do not have a start date for repairs even estimated. We live in a humid environment (houston, Texas) and are very concerned why getting replacement airbags is not a priority given the region we are in.

I learned of the recall while online (recall is dated 2/9/16), and we still have not been notified by Volkswagen of the recall. I came across the information on my own. I asked about this at the VW service department, and the staff had no answers. Is VW obligated to give us notice of the recall and to offer a fix in an expedited manner?

"takata recall" I have had my Volkswagen Passat since may of 2015, since then my journey as a customer has been frustrating and a very scary experienced. Once I got the car within a week I took it to mechanics to get the usual diagnostics done to ensure the safety of the car. It automatically had the tire warning light on till date after tire changes, diagnostics, and timely services. My car's steering control has been a very big issue, turning and the performance of the vehicle ended up to be very unsafe as if I will lose control of the car one day. I have gone to get wheel alignments, tire changes, arm control changes and other several remedies that always tend to resolve in the same issue within weeks. I have put $1000 within the last 4 months and I have still a car that is going to fall apart very soon. I am also experiencing the air bag signal being off every time I enter my car and I am driving. As a young mother and student, I have found this car to have too many issues and every unreliable. To have entered my VIN in the recall system and realizing that my car has a rotating clock issue with no remedy has had me very worried, and I am afraid to drive my children in a vehicle that has no safety features that are due to fail in case of an emergency. I in some unsafe weather conditions pay for mta or cab services to get to locations safely. To have a remedy that is unfound as of yet puts my family and myself in harms way.
