— Ford has issued another 2019-2020 Transit Connect recall because the engines can overheat and catch fire.
Ford recalled the vans in October 2020 for the same problem, but the vehicles were not repaired correctly.
The problem is caused by powertrain control module software which has fail-safe temperature threshold values higher than intended for the engine.
This may delay engine cooling and cause the engine to overheat and possibly catch fire.
About 170 vans are recalled in the U.S. and Canada.
Ford Transit Connect recall letters are expected to be mailed April 28, 2025, and dealers will update the powertrain control module software.
Owners will need to take their vans back to dealers, but with questions Ford can be reached at 866-436-7332.
Ford's Transit Connect recall number is 25S32.
