Cars door says it's open while driving even when it's closed completely. Also wipers don't swipe up and down

The door ajar light and shift to park light and warning system are continuously on draining the car battery over and over. I've taken it to Ford for repairs 3 times and relaxed dead batteries and it's still not working right. I have to slam the door for 5 minutes to get the light to go off and the interior lights to go off. I have to toggle the shift gear for a while to get the shift to park wanting to go off and the electrical dashboard to turn off or battery will die again.

Drivers side front door 'door ajar' always staying on. Even after door is closed. Battery drains because dome light stays on. Happens when driving and when parked.

Vehicle door ajar warning light appears on dash as a bright red warning when door is actually closed. Loud beeping warning sound continually sounds off while driving, causing a distraction making unsafe to drive. Driver ignores other warning banners and alerts because this "door ajar alert" is constantly on and ringing. The driver and passengers are in danger because the saftey automatic door locks dk not lock while driving. The driver cannot lock doors with key fob because the door sensor shows the door is ajar. Dome lights are constantly on while driving make it very difficult driving at night, impeding sight of street signs, street maintenance workers, other vehicles, and pedestrians.

The drivers side rear back door has a sensor light that comes on just like the drivers door side door that has been recalled. The door ajar light comes on and shows the door is open and will not lock.

The door ajar light is on indicating that the driver's side back door is opened even though the door is closed. As a result you cannot lock the doors and the light stays on inside the car. I called Ford and they are not willing to repair the problem even though there was a recall for the same issue on the driver's side front door. This occurs while the car is in park or in drive and while in motion at low or higher speeds.

Illuminated dome lights and door ajar messages have occurred on numerous occasions. The issue occurs both while the vehicle is stationary and while it is in motion, whether on a city street or a highway, while turning and while in a straight line, I have written to Ford Motor Co. Requesting assistance under the customer satisfaction program 19N09 and received a letter dated 2/17/20 (subject cas-25609702-R5T1D5) from Ford denying my request. I believe this to be a safety issue and the door latches needs to be replaced by Ford.

Vehicle exhibits illuminated dome lights and door ajar messages when doors are closed and fully latched. Right rear door. Vehicle was stationary and dome light remained on for a short time, but "door ajar" message stayed on while car was in motion.

I have been having problems for over a year with a defective door switch on the driver's side rear door causing the "door ajar" warning light to display and the interior lights to stay on when the door is shut tight. The warning light will stay on the entire time the car is running, whether stationary or moving. Recently I received the attached customer satisfaction program letter 19N09. As you can see it clearly states that Ford's offer to replace the defective switch free of charge is for the drivers side front door only. I chatted with a Ford customer service representative on January 29, 2020 and was told that at this time their offer does not extended to other doors. I was also told to contact the NHTSA and file a complaint. In recent months I have checked on several Ford owner websites and have found that defective door switch problem is happening on any doors of the affected Ford owners' vehicles. To me this makes Ford's offer pointless to the majority of the vehicles with defective door switches! on behalf of myself and all other Ford owners with this problem I would like to see Ford extend this free repair to any vehicle doors with the defective switches! please help us!!

I reported about 3 -4 years ago about door ajar problem. My car was in warranty then. Received letter to-day Jan 2020 about fixing problem now my car according to them is out of warranty and now they will not cover this defect. There should be no time frame on this issue. It is a factory defect they just want consumer to pay once again for there defect not a happy camper.I will not recommend a Ford to any one as they do not stand by there products

I placed car in park on flat ground, took foot off brake, and car started rolling. This happened a few times within a week but hasn't happened since then. I had to use emergency brake when it did happen to prevent car from moving while parked.

Door ajar warning comes on which makes thee interior lights stay on, when this warning happens the doors will not lock. Tonight, it was especially dangerous when this warning happened after dark and the interior lights stayed on while driving home which is a 20 minute commute. It makes it difficult to see what's happening outside the car, especially when you live in the country trying to Dodge deer becomes 100% harder with interior lights on.

Drivers side rear door will randomly set the cars alarm off saying the door is opened when in fact the door is closed. This has drained my battery once, needing a new replacement. I replaced the door switch because Ford dealership told me it was bad ($400) and it still randomly goes off. This issue has left me stranded several times due to the battery being drained.

The door sensor to let the car know the door was closed, failed, resulting in a constant "door ajar" message. This occurred on the driver side door and started shortly after I purchased the car (used) in 2017 and was no longer covered under warranty. For the better part of the past 2 years I was able to repeatedly open/close the door until the sensor recognized that the door was actually closed, but that no longer became an option as of 9/9/2019. No matter how many attempts were made to open/close the door, I could no longer manipulate the sensor. Two impacts occurred as a result of this: 1. the car doors would not lock. Since the car believed the door was ajar, every time you would go to lock the doors, the car would automatically unlock them. This poses a safety issue. 2. the interior dome light remained lit, resulting in a dead battery. I had no choice but to spend approximately $350 dollars to have the sensor replaced. I have seen many, many complaints online from Edge owners with the same issue, yet Ford is not being held liable for faulty equipment. This is an unfair expense to pass on to the consumer. If the issue is not identified as a "recall", the least that could be done is for the issue to be fixed at no charge by Ford, if/when the issue arises for the owner.
