When I drive on I26 in nc going up hill. Gas peddler just quit working and slow speed down fast. I was hurry pull over. Dang 18 wheeler is piss off me for front of truck. They blow horn loud which I know they mad me. I have no choice to pull front truck because they can slow down. I not want car in middle of hwy. That scare me. I turn off for min to calm down my self. Then I try start again and gas peddler back working. But next day I was in local store it did again so I pull over side rd I did hit mailbox because I can not speed up. Ford dealer act like they not know why. After I read website learn that many of 2010 Fusion have same problem. I went back show the print. He say ohoh yeah I know this then say 400 dollar change part in just 30 min. I refuse buy because he lie to me. What can I do" what is correct price"

While driving upon four occasions, the engine stopped, resulting in a loss of speed and pulling over to the side of the road amid traffic or a driving lane closest to the curb. I was unable to accelerate, turned on my hazards and slowly maneuvered to a stop. The "wrench" light immediately illuminated, which normally indicates a powertrain issue; however, during the 4th occasion, the wrench light went off and then the "check engine" light illuminated. After speaking with several service personnel members and receiving guidance, it has been determined to be the electronic throttle body. While questioning my vehicle's service concerns, I encountered another individual at my dealership with the same car and issue, which was solved by replacing the electronic throttle body. After the first incident, I let the car rest for 5 minutes, started the car back up with ease and without the same issue for 7 days. The subsequent incidences occurred within a 3 hour period. Although not on the highway each time, I feared a severe accident and stuck to city streets.

In the middle of my drive home on the interstate at 60mph, the car just suddenly lost the ability to accelerate. As I put on my hazard lights and began pulling off to the side of the interstate, the car began mildly lurching. Luckily, I was able to safely pull to the side of the interstate and get the car stopped. I turned the vehicle off and restarted a few minutes later to find the vehicle appearing to be completely fine. I got off of the interstate at the next exit and luckily made it safely home. Upon taking the car to the dealership to be looked over, I was told the throttle body was "gummed up" and would need to be replaced. I am told that this type of repair is not something commonly needed to be done on a car only a few years old with only 56,000 miles, and the sudden loss of all ability to safely control the car on the interstate is an extreme safety concern.

My car suddenly lost power and turned off 3 times in the past week. The first time at about 9pm I was driving on the freeway when my car suddenly shut off going at about 65 mph. It was scary as the car seemed to jerk and swerve before shutting off. I had to cruise off to the right but with traffic blowing by so fast and my car dropping speed super fast I almost got into a car accident. I was able to turn the car back on about 10 min later and got off the freeway. About 5 miles later the car shut off again at a slower speed appx. 15mph. My check engine light came on and my car no longer started. I got towed home. Today 9/16/13 my car started and I drove to my nearest Ford service center (sunrise Ford North hollywood). While on my way my car shut off again. I waited 5 min. And it started again. My car was diagnosed ($150) and I was told that it was the electronic throttle body. Total cost of repair is going to cost me apprx $480. This includes diagnostic, parts and labor. Oh and I was told that this part is back ordered. Powertrain warranty does not cover this issue and my 3 year 36000 miles expired. I was having jerking problems with the car at about 36,000 miles, I was told that my warranty expired and that I had a bad battery.

As I was exiting rt. 35 to interstate 75, a major traffic interchange, my 2010 Ford Fusion died and I was forced to pull over to a very slim berm area to shut it off and start it back up again. It seems the throttle body was "stuck" and it had to be replaced. This was a very dangerous situation that I should not have been involved in due to something Ford knows is an issue with Fusion. Please encourage a mandatory recall so that lives are not lost! I was fortunate to not have caused an accident but someone else may not be so lucky. I would hope that Ford would not want any casualties on their conscious and would fix this known problem.

I was driving on 1-95 in Virginia in the left lane early in the morning with my cruise control set. All of a sudden my cruise control shut off and my car started to slow down very fast. I was lucky that no one was behind me in the left lane or else I could have been in an accident. After sitting on the side of the highway for a few minutes I restarted my car and was able to drive on the road again. About 30 minutes later my car did the same thing where the gas pedal wouldn't work and the wrench light came on. The part of the highway did not have very many exits so I had to start my car up again in order to make it to an exit with a Ford dealership. Once at the Ford dealership I left my car to be looked at the next day. The Ford dealership called me to tell me it was the throttle body and it was going to be $600. I went in to buy the part to try and replace it myself and told the car dealership that I was very upset because my car wasn't even 3 years old yet and that I was still paying on my loan. The supervisor said they had seen this issue on other Fusion and was going to only charge me $300 for the part and they would handle paying for the labor costs. This is a serious issue that is very dangerous especially when it happens on the highway.

10 months ago I purchased a so called certified pre owned car, on or about Aug 24th I was driving to work on a busy street at N approx speed of 40 mph when my car suddenly shut off, I was unable to pull over and was towed to the nearest dealer. After being in the svc dept for 4 days I was told the issue was fixed and charged a $100 deductible for nothing, as I was leaving the dealer I noticed my rpms acting up and before I drove off the lot I made it aware to svc advisor his response was that it was normal after the svc performed on my car and to continue to drive it. 2 weeks later I was on a 8 lane hwy driving at a speed of 65-70 mph and the same thing happened. I was in the middle off all lanes and was unable to get to the shoulder in a secure area. It was rush hour traffic and I was in extreme danger expecting a disaster to happen behind me. I stayed in my car and my roadside assistance arrived and took me to my dealer, a day later I was told it was the throttle body and that my warrant did not cover it and I would have to pay $600+ to repair, I asked the advisor to not touch the car that I would consult an attorney as I find it unfair to pay such a significant amount of cash for a so called certified car I purchased not even a year ago. Come to find out im not alone, there are many other issues with this car and something needs to be done by Ford asap.

I was traveling on a two-lane paved road in a 50 mile an hour zone when I felt the car start to decelerate. I pushed on the gas pedal but nothing happened and the car continued to slow down. I was able to pull over at the intersection of a side road where I shut the car off. I started the car back up and proceeded out into the main road. Less than a mile down the road the car started to decelerate again and I turned onto my street and coasted to a stop. Both times the check engine light and the wrench icon on the dash came on. When I had the cause of the check engine light diagnosed, I found out that the car's throttle body had failed. I could only order the part through a Ford dealership and the closest one is 40 minutes away from me.

While driving approximately 40mph on a six lane divided road, the wrench caution light appeared (indicating transmission/throttle malfunction). The engine RPM immediately dropped and began fluctuating around 1,000 and the vehicle began to shake violently. There was absolutely no response to accelerator inputs. The driver was able to maneuver the vehicle clear of traffic. The maximum speed that could be attained at the fluctuating RPM was 14 mph. It is a miracle the vehicle was not in rear end collision as the posted speed limit was 45mph. Car was allowed to idle at the reduced RPM while driver inspected the engine and pressed the accelerator. The car was turned off and back on (with a little bit of trouble turning over). The incident occurred once on 26aug2013, four times on 13sep2013, and once on 14sep2013. The car has not been driven since the last occurrence. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic who recommended taking it to a Ford dealership due to only having 1,400 miles left on the powertrain warranty. The service department was able to pull P2111 code. After receiving an exorbitant quote for the repair ($230 for part, $280 for labor) with no estimated delivery date for the backordered part, the repair was denied to allow for further research. The dealer has absolutely no qualms releasing the car with a known malfunction, presenting a hazard to the driver and others on the road. A car that immediately decelerates should be considered as dangerous as an uncommanded acceleration. To prevent serious injury/death, Ford should issue and immediate recall for the failing throttle body.

Due to the failure of the throttle body, the car engine quits at various speeds or will not accelerate and stalls with on coming traffic. When this happens, the cars power brakes and steering fail to work creating a very unsafe event. Ford has had hundreds or thousands of problems with this according to the local dealership, if fact they have several cars waiting for parts (throttle body) to repair in their back lot. I have been promised by Ford customer service the part would be shipped for over three or four weeks, but they have shipped none due to the manufacture on back order or putting the parts in "new" cars to sell. We have no choice but to keep driving the vehicle doing this time. Ford refuses to provide a rental car since my car is "out of warranty", in the mean time, they will not ship the part to repair. If, according to the dealership, they are having this problem with multiple models, why has this not be a recall by Ford to fix or furnish a replacement while they can't send the part to fix the safety problem. (when the car quits at 35-60mph in traffic, this is a safety problem.)

Traveling about 50 miles per hour and suddenly no power when trying to accelerate. Car starts shaking and slows to nothing. Fortunately, no one was behind me at the time because the car continued to shake & then shut off right in the middle of the highway. Very frightening and shocking. So thankful my grandson was not in the car with me at the time. The 2nd time it occurred, my husband was driving it and he turned out onto a main highway from our neighborhood & it turned off on him. Another vehicle traveling at least 55 miles per hour came upon him before he got it restarted & nearly rear ended him. Thankfully, they were able to stop in time, but were quite angry & blowing their horn because they assumed some fool had just stopped in the middle of a busy highway! this happens with not enough warning to get off the road & sometimes that is impossible anyway.the car did this three more times as my husband decided it was going straight for repair. Fortunately he had called me & I was able to follow him in another vehicle him my hazard lights on for safety.I kept a safe distance and was alert for when it turned off. This made me truly realize, as it continued to turn off on him, how very dangerous this was for the person in the Fusion & for the vehicle behind them or coming into an intersection. I knew to be aware, but others wouldn't be. This is very dangerous in intersections & when pulling out onto highways. We know we can't drive this and are trying to get it fixed, but apparently it is a major problem for Ford Fusion because we were just told there is a 3-6 month wait for the throttle body part which is the problem. Very frustrated and frightened for those still driving these vehicles on the highway because who knows when it will happen to the car and what tragic accident may occur. Ford needs to recall & get these vehicles fixed!!!!!!

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving 75 mph, the vehicle stalled with the illumination of the maintenance light. The failure recurred on three occasions. The contact was able to pull over and restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis where it was stated that the throttle body needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired and the manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 53,000.

I was slowing to exit the interstate when the yellow wrench light came on and the car lost power. I was able pull the car to the side of the road. The engine was running extremely roughly and I turned it off. After about 15 seconds, I was able to restart the car and it acted normally. I was able to continue on my way. I parked the car several times and had normal restarts. I headed home. I only got a few miles before the yellow wrench light came on and then the yellow engine light. I was not possible at this point to restart the car without the yellow wrench light coming on immediately. I had the car towed to a local dealership. They determined the car had an error code P2111. The dealer replaced the throttlebody.

While traveling on Ohio route 306, the car lost all throttle power abruptly, in heavy traffic. Due to the failure of the throttle body, I went from 45 to zero on an incline with many cars behind me honking. I restarted the car but while the engine was running I had no throttle power at all. Ford does not see a problem here and said it is not a major issue. Had my daughter been driving and this happened to her, I would have been concerned for her safety with the heavy traffic and dangerous conditions getting out of the vehicle. Though I was not as concerned for myself, the failure put me in an extremely vulnerable and dangerous state.

While traveling on I64 Sunday September 8th on the way home from williamsburg, my car, while in a lot of heavy traffic on the interstate, stalled and the " wrench " light came on. Luckily I had good control of the car to pull off the interstate. The car lost all power and wouldn't response to throttle input. The car was shut off and after 10 minutes, attempt to restart car which was successful. Car run normally for about 140 additional miles, then stalled to low power and lack of throttle response yet again. Turning off and then turning back on was unsuccessful in getting the vehicle to run normal again. Tow truck was called and vehicle towed to local Ford dealership. Was informed that the throttle body was the culprit and was on backorder. If this is a known problem, why are people being put at risk for serious injury or death, without being informed of the potential of probable stalling.

This is the third incident (different days) where I've been driving and the car starts to lose power. The wrench light came on and the car stutters and loses power. The past two times (different days), it happened once and I shut the car off and restarted and it was fine. Today I went 3-4 miles in the city and it happened 5-6 times in a short period. I have a scheduled appointment with the Ford dealership in our area. They said they do this same repair (throttle) 2-3 times a week. I am very frustrated and disgusted with Ford. There have been numerous reports and still no recall. Are they waiting until someone gets killed before they will do something? the dealership said it would cost about $500 and luckily they have the part in stock.
